The Gardener's Friend

My newest print is inspired by a robin who visits our garden, and seems to be brave enough to stay around even when I am pottering and when the dog is sunbathing!

The robin does seem to be a lot of people's favourite bird, whether just because of their friendly nature, or the fact we all know they are a spy for Father Christmas!

I wanted to create a robin sitting on a garden fork handle, as they so often do, I'm sure that they like the view point, overseeing everything that is going on.  The background was a feel of dappled, filtered light and was created by three different greys and a final layer of white.

The lino about ,midway through the print, you can still see all of the robin and the fork, but a lot of the background has been cut away now.

Penultimate layer, just needing the beak and eye to be printed.

Finished piece, mounted ready to be framed and for sale in my etsy shop.
