Big canvas...big ideas...

These past couple of months, I've been working on a large canvas for one of our walls at home.  This is inspired by a beach photograph taken a few years ago.  The process has been so enjoyable, but I've found it pressured as the canvas is a bit too big in my studio and everything else has had to go on stop while I've been doing this.

The canvas started out a deep dark red and I went from there.  It took a lot of time before I stopped holding my breath and it has only been the last few painting sessions that I've felt I could see its direction more.

Now it needs a couple of days percolating in my mind to see if it is finished...then I just need Mr R to make me a frame ...but this will be its new home in our home.
