Pretty in pink

This week I've spent a while at my easel finishing off three peony paintings which make up a beautiful triptych.

These have been an absolute delight to paint, I've enjoyed all the pinks and the subtle contrasting colours that make the petals of the peonies come to life.

This may be these particular pieces near enough finished (it is currently in place so that I can walk past and look at it often to make sure it is completed!) but I doubt it will be the last of these beautiful flowers that I attempt to capture.

I have done a few watercolour flowers recently too, a little different in approach, however still an enjoyable play.
